Earth Day Celebration & Volunteer Day at Amber Waves
Community volunteer action is an essential part of our education, conservation and stewardship programs. As a non-profit farm and education center, we are dedicated to building the world we want to see with our ever-growing community in our hearts. Together, let’s work towards our mission to provide rich educational opportunities in agriculture for aspiring growers, thoughtful cooks, and eaters of all ages.
Ages: Open to all ages! Though we will be separating our volunteer times for children and adults. Children being in the morning and requiring a parent or caregiver, with adults and teens in the afternoon.
Cost: A $10 donation supports the Amber Waves supplies and staff, turning your intention into impact.
Volunteer timeline below for children and adults:
- 9:30am – 11am: Children’s volunteer time in the Outdoor Classroom
- 11:30am – 1:30pm: Adult volunteer time on the farm
- 1:30pm – 2:30pm – Farm Tour
- 3:00pm – 5:00pm – Farmer Community Happy Hour Earth Day Celebration
Description: The children’s volunteer hour is geared towards young children. There will be multiple tasks available that are easy, but fulfilling in our goal to get our garden ready for the growing season ahead. The adult volunteer hour is geared towards adults and teens, the tasks will be more difficult, but can be adjusted to your level of experience / endurance. All are welcome to the farm tour, it is going to be geared more towards adults though. The farmer community happy hour earth day celebration is open to all! Join us near the magnolias to spend time with the local farming community and celebrate spring.
