Long Pond Greenbelt Walk with Dai Dayton

This free walk is for adults, teens, and children ages 10 and older

Walk Leader: Dai Dayton, President, Friends of the Long Pond Greenbelt

The Long Pond Greenbelt is made up of more than 1,100 acres of interconnected ponds, woods, and wetlands that stretch from Ligonee Brook and Otter Pond in Sag Harbor to Sagg Pond and the Atlantic Ocean shore in Sagaponack.

Your 3.5-mile walk will take you along the Nature Center’s William B. Sickles Tree ID trail, home to at least 20 species of native Greenbelt trees and shrubs, including bayberry, high and low bush blueberry, hickory, and three types of oak. Then you’ll continue along the old railroad spur where you’ll enjoy views of Crooked Pond, Long Pond, Little Long Pond, Deer Drink Pond, and the ecological communities that surround them.

Advanced reservations are required for all events. For more information, reservations, and directions to meeting places, please email: emailing info@sofo.org or call: (631) 537-9735.
