The Greater Westhampton Chamber of Commerce will once again host the Annual Maggie Burbank Arts and Crafts Show on the Great Lawn (corner of Potunk Lane and Main Street in Westhampton Beach). The show will be held rain or shine on Saturday, May 25th, and Sunday, May 26th from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. This free event features over 50 artists and artisans showcasing their incredible works of art including oils, acrylics, watercolors, mixed media, wood and metal sculpture, wearable art, jewelry, and photography. All featured artists are chosen through a competitive selection process.

A ceremony and presentation of dignitaries at the monument located in front of Post 861 on Wickham Avenue followed by the parade. A reception will be held at Post 861 afterwards and the public is invited to attend all functions.

Riverhead -  9a
Osborn Avenue to the World War I monument on the corner of Court and West Main Streets, where the first ceremony is held. From there, participants proceed east on Main Street to East Avenue, and then north to St. John’s Cemetery, for a wreath-laying ceremony. Services and ceremonies follow at the Civil War monument in Riverhead Cemetery and at the War Memorial Monument at the Pulaski Street School.

SOUTH FORK
Westhampton Beach - 11a
Service - VFW Post 5350, 101 Old Riverhead Rd.  Refreshments to follow.

Hampton Bays - 10:30a
Service at the American Legion Hand-Aldrich Post 924, located at 55 Ponquogue Avenue followed by the parade beginning at the Legion and heading to Main Street before concluding at Good Ground Cemetery, where a service will take place around 11a.

Southampton - 10:45a
A short parade will begin from the First Presbyterian Church, to South Main Street, proceeding west down Jobs Lane to Agawam Park for memorial service at 11a. Refreshments for all afterwards at Veterans Memeorial Hall.

Sag Harbor - 9a
The Chelberg & Battle American Legion Post #388 parade begins at the World War II monument near Mashashimuet Park and ends at Marine Park, passing through Main Street.

East Hampton - 9a - 11a
Hosted by the VFW and the American Legion, the Memorial Day event includes a flyover at Main Beach at 9a, a parade on Main Street at 10a, and a ceremony on the Village Green at 11a.

The 13th Annual Montauk Music Festival is upon us, bringing four days of live music to the idyllic beach town of Montauk, New York. But why just get there when the journey itself can be just as amazing? The Hamptons are all about savoring the entire experience, and that includes exploring the local gems along the way.

Road Trip Ready:

Forget the straight shot – turn your trip to the Montauk Music Festival into a memorable adventure with these pit stops:

Fueling Up for Fun: Start your day right with a caffeine fix and a sweet treat. Grindstone Coffee & Donuts in East Hampton offers classic comfort, while Jack’s Stir Brew Coffee in Amagansett provides a more artisanal vibe.

Beach Bliss: The Hamptons boast stunning shorelines. Coopers Beach in Southampton Village offers 500 feet of pristine sand, perfect for soaking up the sun. Further east, Main Beach and Two Mile Hollow in East Hampton are local favorites. And of course, Montauk has Kirk Park Beach and State Parks like Hither Hills, Camp Hero, or Montauk Point. Insider Tip: Beaches require day permits starting in Mid-May.

The Art Scene: Looking for a cultural detour? Explore the Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill, home to legendary works and beautiful grounds with contemporary sculptures (free to explore). Further down in East Hampton,LongHouse Reserve offers a serene 16-acre sculpture garden (admission fee applies).

The Clam Bar in Napeague is a 43-year-old institution, serving everything from lobster tails to inventive delights like lobster corn dogs. Non-seafood options are available too. Just down the road, The Lobster Roll, a must-visit since 1965, offers classic seafood shack fare.

Montauk

Montauk Music Festival: Four Days of Live Music by the Beach

From May 16th to 19th, the festival offers a chance to discover up-and-coming independent artists while soaking up the sun and enjoying the seaside atmosphere.

The festival kicks off with a ticketed opening party on Thursday night at the Westlake Fish House. The rest of the weekend features free showcases at over 35 venues throughout Montauk. With a diverse range of musical styles represented, there’s something for everyone, from folk and rock to blues, jazz, and even hip-hop and reggae.

This year’s main stage will be set up at the Montauk Yacht Club, featuring ticketed performances on Saturday and Sunday. There’s also a family-friendly atmosphere, with admission/donation fees for the main stage events allowing access for both days, and free entry for children under five.

More than just great music, the Montauk Music Festival also supports a good cause. A portion of the proceeds goes to Lucia’s Angels and the East End Coalition for Women’s Cancers.

Whether you’re a die-hard music fan or simply looking for a fun way to spend a few days in Montauk, the Montauk Music Festival is a great option. With its beautiful setting, free events, and wide variety of music, it’s sure to be a memorable experience.

2024 Great North American Solar Eclipse

 Witness the phenomenon of a solar eclipse in person through our filtered high-powered, state-of-the-art telescopes and using certified safe solar eclipse viewing glasses (provided). This rare celestial event occurs when the Moon aligns with the Sun, creating a shadow across the Earth along the path of totality. In our area, we will experience a partial solar eclipse with the moon covering approximately 90% of the sun’s disk at the peak of the eclipse at approximately 3:15pm. Watch with us as the Moon partially covers the Sun, casting a shadow over the Earth.

Original Chamber Music and Poetry Combine To Draw Attention To Our Impact on the Environment
The Iris Trio will perform selections from The Blue and Green Chapters of Project Earth, their multi-year project in response to the enormous climate crisis currently facing the planet. Through chamber music and poetry, the ensemble strives to illuminate the impact of human behavior on the environment, addressing issues of climate change, pollution, habitat degradation, and biodiversity loss, while also giving center stage to the immense beauty and wonder found in nature.

This rousing musical proposal presented by Rites of Spring Music Festival as the PREVIEW of the new season kicking off in May is the result of joint forces with the Department of Music at Stony Brook University.

The 2024 Piano Marathon will explore the repertoire of two composers, Joseph Haydn and Arnold Schoenberg, icons of the First and Second Viennese schools. We hope you enjoy the humor, clarity and distinctive sound worlds presented by this pairing.
