The Joy of Apple Picking on the East End

As the leaves change color and the air becomes crisp, families and friends head to orchards to pluck ripe, juicy apples from the trees. The sound of laughter and the sweet aroma of apples fill the air as people search for the perfect fruit. It's a wholesome and satisfying experience, connecting people with nature and the simple pleasure of harvesting their own food. Whether for baking delicious pies, making crisp cider, or simply enjoying a fresh, hand-picked apple, this seasonal activity brings a sense of warmth and tradition to the fall season.

Some of the apple varieties you may find are: Empire, Fuji, Gala, Golden Delicious, Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, Ida  Red or Macintosh!

Here are a few locations to explore:
North Fork
Lewin Farms, Calverton
Wickham’s Fruit Farm, Cutchogue
Woodside Orchards, Aquebogue & Jamesport

South Fork
Hank’s Pumpkintown, Water Mill
Milk Pail U-Pick Farm, Water Mill

EAST END EVENTS

31ST ANNUAL HAMPTONS

INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

Daily October 5th – October 12th

The Hamptons International Film Festival (HIFF) takes place annually each October and is the premier film event on New York State’s East End. It is an intimate showcase of some of the year’s best offerings in contemporary cinema. Recently referred to as “Telluride East” by “Variety,” the publication cited HIFF as “one of America’s most glamorous displays of the best in cutting-edge cinema…and has grown a reputation for being able to read the Academy voting tea leaves and routinely promotes Oscar race front-runners but has also become the place to see emerging talent before they become marquee names.”
