In this whimsical children’s art class, young artists will embark on a creative journey through the captivating colors of fall. Using an array of dried leaves and delicate flowers, they will craft their very own paper mache jack-o’-lanterns, bringing the spirit of autumn to life with every brushstroke and leafy flourish. As the crisp air and golden leaves swirl outside, our little artists will channel their inner pumpkin-patch magic to sculpt, paint, and decorate their seasonal masterpieces. Sunday, popular Long Island singer/songwriter Bryan Gallo takes the stage. Whenever Bryan sets up his guitar and harmonica he’s sure to entertain!
To round out the day there will be pumpkin picking in our 9-acre on-the-vine “u-pick” pumpkin patch, hayrides, great foods to enjoy, Harbes Vineyard’s award-winning wines to sip, vendors, and additional children’s activities.

The Railroad Museum of Long Island is honored to present Greenport native, “Jimmy” Quatroche, “The Singing Brakeman” in a very special homecoming in our #759 boxcar titled, “Music, Poetry and Story in the Boxcar!” “Jimmy” will offer us his iconic poetry and stories from the road and life!
Born on the end of Long Island’s North Fork in Greenport in the mid 50’s ~ estranged native son Vincent “Jimmy” Quatroche, Jr. returns to the old country for a rare local performance to present a perspective on the influence of his father’s work upon his own creative endeavors.
Vincent Quatroche, Jr. is a journeyman educator/irritant de jour listed as “Visiting Assistant Professor” in the Communication Department of Fredonia State College in Western New York. He has been creating and publishing in book, audio and video formats for the past thirty years which has been widely distributed and largely ignored in the US & abroad. He is a veteran of the NYC Poetry scene at venues such as Otto’s Shrunken Head, The Stark, The Jujo Tea Lounge and the Nightingale with Su Polo, Rimes of the Ancient Mariner and from Whitman to Ginsberg as his head bounces up and down 1st Ave!
A free evening of music on the beautiful Peconic Bay. Mattituck Park District hosts Gene Casey and the Lone Sharks. Bring your blankets and chairs. Food and beverages are available.

While you’re here you can visit Harbes Barnyard Adventure for hours of family fun! Harbes Barnyard Adventure is an 8-acre, family-friendly experience for all ages. The Barnyard admission includes a Musical Hayride tour of our 100-acre farm and our famous pig races. There are also farm animals, our very popular “Jumbo Jumpers” bounce pillows, a Sports Zone with baseball, football, and basketball tossing games, “Lil’ Farmers PlayLand” filled with lots of fun activities for preschoolers, a trike track, obstacle course, hedge maze, our musical animatronic chicken show, and much more. We’ll also be debuting some exciting new attractions for 2023!
Harbes Wine Barn, located behind the main farmstand, is a wine lover’s dream! In our 100-year-old renovated potato barn, we offer tastings of our award-winning wines and wine by the glass or bottle. There’s a rustic ambiance inside or you can enjoy your wine outside under an umbrella on our patio.

Reflextions is a free, interactive, walkable public art space that takes place in the summer June-August with an OKTOBERFEST event in September. The events feature assorted elements of light based on artist interpretations and designs including LED, fire, Dayglow, and photoluminescent displays. Each illumination event will include various live performing arts.
Rites of Spring The Rites of Spring Music Festival is an annual event that takes place across the North Fork and the East End of Long Island on various dates throughout the summer. The music festival has quickly become the premier classical and contemporary music festival on the North Fork. Alive on 25 is a popular, free annual event in downtown Riverhead taking place on select Fridays throughout the months of July and August. The event offers local craft beverages and wine, live music on multiple stages, a car show, artists, street vendors, and activities the whole family can enjoy. The walkable, pop-up festival on main street also features restaurant offerings and specials, artist exhibitions, and much more.

A summertime favorite on the North Fork, the Jamesport Firemen’s Association hosts their annual carnival full of exhilarating rides, captivating games and mouth watering bites to eat. On Wednesday night, the community gathers to pay tribute to local heroes in the Jamesport Parade, and the spectacular fireworks show by the Jamesport Fire Department ends the week’s festivities on Saturday night!
Sweet Corn Harvest Harbes Family Farm, Mattituck Saturday, July 22nd & Sunday, July 23rd | 10a – 7p
The annual Sweet Corn Harvest Festival is hosted and takes place at Harbes Family Farm in July each season. The event hosts live music in their courtyard/picnic area both days, as well as a corn eating contest, plus the opportunity to explore Harbes Barnyard Adventure that offers plenty of fun for the whole family. Admission includes a Musical Hayride tour of their 100-acre farm, famous Pig Races, adorable farm animals, and much more.
The Farm also hosts a Watermelon Harvest, Tomato Harvest, Peach Harvest and more. Harbes Orchard and Farm also host a variety of fall events including apple picking, and pumpkin and autumn festivals.
Paddle Battle Peconic Riverfront, Riverhead Saturday, July 29th | 9:15a
Paddle Battle is an annual event that benefits the NY Marine Rescue Center is a rescue and rehabilitation organization that promotes marine conservation. There are two separate races. One is a 2 1/2 mile recreational race, the second is a competitive 5 mile race. There are different categories per race. For instance, categories include recreational kayak, stand up paddle boards and more, depending upon the race. Estimated race start times will be given at check-in. Grab your cardboard and duct tape and get crafty! One of Riverhead‘s most exciting summer events is The Annual Cardboard Boat Races. Participants have the opportunity to race in various categories including the Youth Regatta, Grand National Regatta and more. Prizes are given out for the best spirit, best captain, best constructed, most creative, and more. Online pre-registration is required.
The Hampton Classic Snake Hollow Road, Bridgehampton August 27th – Sept 3rd
The Hampton Classic Horse Show is a longtime annual Hamptons event that traditionally takes place over the last week of August until right before Labor Day. Well into its fourth decade, it is one of the largest outdoor horse shows in the United States and is widely popular for everyone of all ages. At this week-long show, top equestrians from around the world compete for more than $800,000 in prize money. National champion hunter competitors, Olympic medalists, and scores of children and adult amateurs make up the field throughout the event.
In addition to watching world class equestrian sport, event goers enjoy onsite boutique shops, International food stations and food trucks, daily activities in the kids’ play area and more. Day and weekly passes are available for purchase as are individual and carload tickets.
East End Seaport Museum’s Annual Maritime Festival Greenport Village Saturday, September 23rd & Sunday, September 24th | 10a – 5p
Hosted by the East End Seaport Museum, the Annual Maritime Festival celebrates all things nautical and marks the end of the summer season on the East End. With over 100 artisan craft and food vendors to explore, weekend highlights include the Merfolk Parade (Sat. 11a), kayak and cardboard boat races, sea shanty performances, live music, children’s activities and Mermaids!

Summer Concert & Dine at Borghese Vineyard is a new event that combines classical music and a delicious dinner paired with Borghese wine. It’s an intimate indoor concert featuring the exceptional Ulysses String Quartet performing music by Molina, Richter, Beethoven and traditional folk songs while the audience are seated at the table.Wine tasting and a charming dinner presented by the chef Martine Abitbol will be served at the table during the intermission of the concert.
” This is a program that celebrates the incredible variety and vitality of the string quartet repertoire. We will open with a work written for us, Patricio Molina’s Selva Sonora—“Sounds of the Jungle”—full of the rhythms and spirit of Latin American dances. Next, a moment for reflection and hope for peace with our own Christina Bouey’s arrangement of Max Richter’s powerful On the Nature of Daylight. Spend the morning with master gardener Christine Killorin and learn how you can turn your yard into a haven for bees, butterflies, and birds. These pollinators play a critical role in our ecosystem, but their numbers are in steep decline due to loss of habitat. Learn how to replace non-native plants, or a section of your lawn, with native plants that will provide pollinators food and shelter. Tour gardens at Hallockville illustrate two approaches – a woodland garden, and a full sun border. You will take home a native plant that will get you started!
