Southold Winter Festival

Ice sculpting, s’mores, a mariachi band, baked potato bar and stargazing are on tap for Southold Town’s first ever winter festival on Feb. 19.Taking place along Route 25 between Wells Avenue and Silversmith’s Corner, will be organized into two main hubs.

In the parking lot across from the Southold Library, will feature a DJ, three live ice sculptures, face painting by Sarah Hope and a booth from the Custer Institute for solar gazing.

The Custer Institute will also open at 5 p.m. that evening for stargazing.

At Silversmith’s Corner, there will be corn hole courts (courtesy of Greenport Harbor Brewing Company), a seafood station by Southold Fish Market and Girl Scout cookies for sale from Troop 2981.

The Southold Historical Museum will also be open for tours, the Giving Room is hosting an art exhibit and free smoothie tastings and the First Presbyterian Church of Southold will have a baked potato bar, popcorn, hot chocolate and fire pits for s’mores.

The Center for Advocacy, Support and Transformation (located in the former Southold Opera House) will be hosting story time and an ice castle activity for kids hosted by the Southold Library at 10 a.m., cupcake decorating at 12:30 p.m. Music Brady Rymer at 1:30 p.m. and a mariachi performance, mulled wine and cider by Mariachi Sol Mixteco at 3 p.m.

Winter Wonders Art Exhibit & Sale in Southold

Southold Historical Museum’s Ten Squared: Winter Wonders Art Exhibit & Sale begins on Nov. 15 and runs through Dec. 15! Featuring works from local artists, the exhibit interprets the wonders and beauty of winter. Each piece is 10”x10” Everyone is invited to view the exhibit. Purchases benefit local artists and the Southold Historical Museum. Makes a great holiday gift! The online exhibit and sale will be offered on the Museum’s website, SoutholdHistorical.org

Southold Historical Museum ‘Shop Small’ Promotion

Join us at the Treasure Exchange and Museum Gift Shop for a special American Express ‘Shop Small’ promotion on Fri., Nov. 26 and Sat., Nov 27 featuring free giveaways! Hours are:

Holiday Fair in Southold

Come to Southold Historical Museum’s Holiday Fair at Peconic Lane Community Center where vendors and local artisans will be on hand with unique holiday gifts for all!  Families with children won’t want to miss a visit with Santa who will be on hand to greet them.  There will be a bake sale as well as a crafts room and face painting for children.  The “Holiday Auction” will feature gift baskets for all ages.  Take a chance to win one for yourself or to give as a holiday gift.  Photos with Santa and admission to the event are free.

Candlelight Tour & Tree Lighting

You’re invited to attend Southold Historical Museum’s magical Candlelight Tour & Christmas Tree Lighting at the Maple Lane Complex of historic buildings! Enjoy the delightful decorations, meet Santa in the barn, and watch carpentry, blacksmith, basketweaving, print shop, and fiber arts demonstrations. Tour the historic buildings including the 18th Century Thomas Moore House and the Victorian Ann Currie-Bell House.  Children will enjoy games on the lawn with Santa’s helper.  There will be live music throughout the event, and light refreshments and small gifts will be available for purchase. Tree-lighting at 5:00. Admission is free.

Harvest Dinner

Celebrate the season with delicious food and friendly company at Southold Historical Museum’s Harvest Dinner at O’Mally’s Restaurant. A complete dinner will be served, including salad, entrée, coffee/tea, and dessert. There will also be a 50/50 raffle! Take-out is available.  Tickets are on sale at the museum’s office at the Prince Building, 54325 Main Road, Southold, Mon. – Fri. 10am-2pm through November 3.  Tickets will also be for sale at O’Mally’s on the day of the dinner. Tickets include gratuity.

Wine by the Vines

Enjoy an early autumn afternoon on the patio overlooking the vines at Southold Historical Museum’s “Wine by the Vines” event at Pellegrini Vineyards. You’ll be offered a choice of several fine Pellegrini wines, along with gourmet sandwiches and sweets. Reservations required.
