Ice sculpting, s’mores, a mariachi band, baked potato bar and stargazing are on tap for Southold Town’s first ever winter festival on Feb. 19.Taking place along Route 25 between Wells Avenue and Silversmith’s Corner, will be organized into two main hubs.
In the parking lot across from the Southold Library, will feature a DJ, three live ice sculptures, face painting by Sarah Hope and a booth from the Custer Institute for solar gazing.
The Custer Institute will also open at 5 p.m. that evening for stargazing.
At Silversmith’s Corner, there will be corn hole courts (courtesy of Greenport Harbor Brewing Company), a seafood station by Southold Fish Market and Girl Scout cookies for sale from Troop 2981.
The Southold Historical Museum will also be open for tours, the Giving Room is hosting an art exhibit and free smoothie tastings and the First Presbyterian Church of Southold will have a baked potato bar, popcorn, hot chocolate and fire pits for s’mores.
The Center for Advocacy, Support and Transformation (located in the former Southold Opera House) will be hosting story time and an ice castle activity for kids hosted by the Southold Library at 10 a.m., cupcake decorating at 12:30 p.m. Music Brady Rymer at 1:30 p.m. and a mariachi performance, mulled wine and cider by Mariachi Sol Mixteco at 3 p.m.

Enjoy an immersive experience into the winemaking process hosted by Anthony Sannino.
Begin your winemaking experience with a full tour of our vineyard, wine production facilities, and barrel cellar. All throughout the tour you will be tasting our current wine line up to better understand the various methods of making unique styles of wine.
After the tour, settle in for a light lunch. The second part of the day will be the red wine blending session. You will learn how to blend your own custom bottle of wine. Each guest will be able to blend their own wine and take home a bottle (additional bottles may be blended and purchased upon request). This course runs up to 3 hours, from 11am to 2pm.

A 4 week mid-winter music, wine, craft beer and performing arts festival that takes place throughout Long Island’s unique vineyard tasting rooms, breweries, hotels, legendary theaters and other historic venues.
What visitors can expect from Winterfest this year will be options to #TravelSafe. The website will feature local businesses who are creating special events or discounts for Winterfest visitors. The focus will be a resource for where to go, what to do and what is open, including plenty of outdoor experiences for all ages.
